l have been living in Miyazaki now for over two and a half years and it has been great to experience the many wonders of Miyazaki not least the Prefectural Library. Living in the city has given me many opportunities to visit the library and the beautiful surrounding park. I often go to the library on a Sunday afternoon, I find the peaceful atmosphere very soothing for a stonking hangover.
When I first properly explored the library I was surprised by the sheer extensiveness of it. The quiet area upstairs, the children's corner, the newspapers(I only wish I could read a British Paper here!)the C.D and video collection make for a very enjoyable experience.
I mainly visit the library to borrow books which can help with my language study. Although I do often browse through the magazines and pass some time stitting in comfort catching up on the latest news and gossip from around the world. The foreign language section has been especially helpful in my English classes since I often use the books to introduce my home country, England. I think for any member of the community who pursues an interest in a foreign language or a foreign country they should visit this corner of the library and enjoy some of the books they have on offer.
